The continuous ribbon of laminated wood becomes two surfaces. These two aspects allow for the inside to be pigmented or treated differently from the outside. Similarly, this allows for upholstering in a way that is consistent with the construction. For instance, felt can be laminated to the beech wood, at the seat and back. Thus the expression of the chair emerges from its conception.
